The Mystic Combo: Tubing & Dry Cave Expedition
Experience a truly unique adventure at St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park that combines the tranquility of floating with the thrill of dry cave exploration! Our Mystic Combo Tour takes you deep into the heart of the ceremonial underground river system, offering a look at hidden chambers and ancient Mayan artifacts not seen on a standard tubing tour. ### Dual-Chamber Adventure This comprehensive tour offers a dynamic experience within the same spectacular cave system: - Deep Exploration (Dry Cave) - The Ascent: After walking a short distance into the cave, we "park" our tubes and use a sturdy guided rope ascent to reach a magnificent higher, dry section of the cave. - Artifact Discovery: Here, you'll feel like a true archaeologist as you explore vast chambers, discovering ancient Mayan artifacts, ceremonial altars, and pottery fragments. - Hidden Views: We'll hike toward another natural exit of the cave before turning back to the river level. - Relaxing Float (Cave Tubing) - Upstream Journey: We return to the tubes and make our way upstream to a mystical point where the river emerges from beneath massive boulders. - The Big Float: From there, the current takes over! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the rest of your tranquil float downstream through the illuminated caverns, emerging back at the main cave entrance. ### Tour Details & Gear This is a moderately active tour, perfect for adventurers who want more than just a float but aren't quite ready for the extreme difficulty of ATM.
River Kayaking
This half day tour combines jungle, wildlife and a refreshing paddle of approximately 3 hours. Highly recommended if you are staying along the Hummingbird Highway or Belmopan. A stop at the Belmopan fruits and vegetable market or at Lamanai Chocolate on the way back to your hotel can also compliment the tour.
ATM Cave
Actun Tunichil Muknal (Cave of the Stone Sepulchre) ranks #1 in the Top 10 Sacred Caves by National Geographic. Originally discovered in 1989 ATM gained archaeological importance as one of the top sacrificial caves in Belize and now in the world. In this tour you get to see the skeletal remains of 14 individuals, including the “crystal maiden” that sparkles, ranging in age from one year to 45 years old, these skeletons are covered in calcite crystals from having been in that constant deep cave environment for over a thousand years. “In myths, journeys to the underworld are never easy, and after visiting Actun Tunichil Muknal, you may feel that you have been through your own epic test.”
Cave Tubing
An electrifying and rejuvenating adventure into the limestone-carved Maya Mountains. This is the perfect activity for a refreshing half-day where you get to experience the timeless and weightless sensation of an optional few minutes of floating through total darkness and a swim in the inland blue hole. After the beautiful jungle scenery of the Hummingbird Highway, you spend 2 ½ - 3 hours in the “underworld”. The limestone geology and Mayan Cave Archaeology are accompanied by a wonderful talk by your guide in which the ancient ceremonial mystic of ancient times can be imagined as those ancient times when caves were revered as holy shrines.
Xunantunich Maya Site
Xunantunich is one of the most impressive, well-excavated and easily accessible ancient ceremonial sites that flourished for over a thousand years. It was part of the splendor of one of the greatest ancient civilizations, one of only a few of ancient societies that developed a mathematical and writing system.
